Oh, what a night it was at the 2020 Nastia Liukin Cup!

In the eleventh year of the event–which is named after the Olympic all-around champion herself–history was made as a mass of pink descended on Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Thirty-six qualifiers, 18 juniors and 18 seniors, competed in the Level 10 Junior Olympic competition.

The meet included a perfect score, a tie, and young gymnasts from across the country vying for one of the most talked about JO titles of the season.

Seniors

Senior All-Around Final
  1. Haleigh Bryant (Everest) – 39.175
  2. Jacey Vore (JPAC) – 39.125
  3. Andrea Li (Legacy Elite) – 38.875
  4. Lali Dekanoidze (Southeastern) – 38.800
  5. Skylar Killough-Wilhelm (Triad) – 38.600
  6. Gabby Perea (Legacy Elite) – 38.525

Notes: Haleigh Bryant made history in more ways than one on Friday evening. The future LSU Tiger earned a perfect 10 on vault and, ultimately, her second senior all-around title at the meet. Both feats–the 10 and two titles–are firsts for the Nastia Liukin Cup.

Jacey Vore earned the silver, just 0.050 behind Bryant. An Arkansas gymnastics commit, Vore finished second on vault (9.975), bars (9.675), and beam (9.800).

Rounding out the podium, Legacy Elite’s Andrea Li took the bronze. She finished first on floor exercise with a 9.800. Her floor routine in particular is a must-watch. The soon-to-be Cal gymnast opens with a big full-in, includes some modern, yet balletic, hip-hop dance elements in the middle, and finishes with a difficult 2.5 twist.

Juniors

Junior All-Around Final
  1. Kiley Rorich (Southeastern) – 38.225
  2. Alexia Mouyenga (Twin City Twisters) – 38.000
  3. Rachel Wilkening (Twin City Twisters) – 38.000
  4. Zoe Johnson (Bull City) – 37.950
  5. Rebekah Smith (WCC) – 37.925
  6. Rayna Light (Golden City) – 37.900

Notes: Kiley Rorich led the junior ladies, winning bars as well. Her bars exercise included a straddled Jaeger and virtually stuck, stick-straight double layout.

Alexia Mouyenga and Rachel Wilkening tied with identical scores of 38.000, but Mouyenga was ultimately awarded the silver based off the tiebreaker, which was the highest single event score of the two. That high score came on vault, where she finished first with a 9.800.
