Last fall, Stephen Nedorosick made history as the first U.S. man to win gold on pommel horse at the world championships. Now, fans have the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at his journey to becoming the best in the world.

This week, NPR member radio station WPSU released a short documentary on Nedoroscik’s roller coaster Olympic season and the lead-up to the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan.

WPSU’s description of the piece says, ”Stephen Nedoroscik was a phenomenon in his Penn State gymnastics career, winning two consecutive NCAA pommel horse titles and the Nissen-Emery Award as the top male collegiate gymnast in the nation. COVID-19 cut short Stephen’s senior season and torpedoed his plans to earn his own spot on the Olympic team through international competitions. But he persevered and qualified for Team USA and the 2021 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships where he made history as the first American to win a world title on pommel horse.”

The documentary features Nedoroscik, as well as his Penn State teammates and coaches. Viewers also get the scoop on the notorious goggles or ”specs”, as they’re referred to in the short.

You can watch the film below, and trust us, it’s well worth the 10 minutes!
