U.S. Olympians Nastia Liukin and Alicia Sacramone Quinn are gearing up to compete again, but this time, it will be against one another!

The 2008 Olympic team silver medalists have teamed up in The Big Fight (against suicide) to put a spotlight on mental health awareness.

“Due to COVID-19 lockdowns around the world, social distancing and the cancellation of all events, depression, anxiety and suicide have increased dramatically,” Sacramone Quinn said.

“As a former professional athlete and mother, I have experienced some of these feelings. So, in an effort to raise awareness, I’m teaming up with Nastia Liukin to bring you The Big Fight Against Suicide. On December 12th, @nastialiukin and I will be competing against each other in a series of events. We’re going to be tapping into our gymnastics side, so you won’t want to miss this! It’s been 11 years since we last competed together, but I feel like we still got it!”

The USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame members will compete in a series of fitness challenges, including gymnastics, dodgeball, strength, and more.

Liukin and Sacramone Quinn have partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Anxiety & Depression Association of America, and a portion of funds raised from ticket sales will go to the two organizations.

The one-time livestream event will take place December 12 at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET. Tickets are $19 at the current Early Bird rate through December 1. Click here to purchase.

As if we’d expect anything else from the 2008 Olympic all-around champion, Liukin says she’s already been training and is taking this “as seriously as [she] did the Olympics,” so if that’s any indication, we’re in for an exciting event!
