Penn State and Illinois each rose two places in the College Gymnastics Association’s (CGA) Week 2 Power Rankings.

The Nittany Lions are now No. 2 after earning the nation’s second-best team score of 407.6 last weekend. The Illini moved up to No. 4 following their upset win over Michigan at Windy City.

Penn State’s and Illinois’ moves bumped OU to No. 3 and Michigan to No. 5. Both the Sooners, in their season opener, and the Wolverines will have a chance to lift their rankings this weekend at the Rocky Mountain Open.

The rankings are based on the votes of a panel of men’s gymnastics experts surveyed by the CGA, including Gymnastics Now, and will be shared weekly throughout the season on the GymNow site as part of our partnership with the association.

Cal moved up one spot to No. 8, pushing Navy into ninth. Springfield and Greenville advanced to No. 12 and No. 13, respectively, while William & Mary fell two spots to No. 14.
