Simone Biles and Jonathan Van Ness twinning and tumbling in Uber Eats ads will be the highlight of your week
It’s the collab the gymternet has been wanting for a hot minute, and Uber Eats just gave it to us! Simone Biles and Jonathan Van Ness team up in the delivery service’s latest campaign. The result? A priceless pairing.
Longtime gymnastics fan and “Queer Eye” host Jonathan Van Ness (JVN) is a Simone Biles fan (who isn’t?), and in the latest set of Uber Eats commercials, fans get to come along for the ride as Van Ness gets to live out his gymnastics dream of hanging with the G.O.A.T. on her turf.
The series of “Tonight, I’ll Be Eating” spots sees the duo meet up to tumble together (JVN did his own stunts, OFC!) and have what seems to be an all-around amazing time.
While Biles shows off her powerful, albeit watered down, tumbling, ex-cheerleader JVN shows that his real-life gymnastics classes have paid off with a series of impressive back handsprings and splits over on the beam.
JVN’s bubbly personality shines throughout the spots as he geeks out over the superstar, following in Biles’ footsteps and earning some of her famous signature facial expressions along the way.
“JVN is such an unexpected, avid gymnast, and we wanted to pair him with someone we could see him both idolizing and getting along well with,” Georgie Jeffreys, U.S. and Canada head of marketing at Uber Eats told AdAge. “And when we thought of them together, we truly felt like we could help make that friendship happen. It was wonderful to see the genuine connection happen both on screen and behind the scenes. This was the Olympics 2020 we all needed.”
