Simone Biles legally marries Jonathan Owens ahead of destination wedding
Simone Biles is a (legally) married woman!
The 7-time Olympic medalist and 25-time world medalist shared photos of her courthouse nuptials with Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens on Saturday, captioning the stunning photos, “I do. Officially Owens.”
The 26-year-old gymnastics legend and 27-year-old NFL football player confirmed their relationship in August 2020 and Owens proposed in February 2022.
The duo is set to formally tie the knot in Baja California Sur on May 6, according to their public wedding registry. Since the wedding will be in Mexico, they had to get legally married stateside first, so why not do it in style?
Although Biles is expected to use her (famous) maiden name professionally, she has chosen to legally take her husband’s last name and changed her social media bios to read Simone Biles Owens soon after the announcement.
